Lonely Planet had this to say about the Oscar Motel in Bundaberg - "The Oscar offers a range of rooms; smaller digs are functional and warm and the larger rooms can be utterly cavernous, so ask when you check in.  All have cable TV and tea coffee facilities.  The proud and professional owners keep the whole place spotless." Lonely Planet - Queensland Edition, 2005

Oscar Motel is a full member of Bundaberg Region providing motel style accommodation close to the city centre.

Things to see and do in Bundaberg, Coral Coast and Country.

Looking to experience nature? The Woongarra Marine Park is the start of the Great Barrier Reef and is located on the foreshores of  Bargara and Innis Park which are about 12 kilometres from Bundaberg. Hoffman's Rocks at Bargara and Barolin Rocks at Innis Park provide some of the best diving and snorkelling in Australia.   Both Hoffman's Rocks and Barolin Rocks are all  accessible from the foreshore.

From September to October whales may be seen from the beaches (rumour has it that if you diving at Barolin rocks you may be lucky to have a whale watch you).  In summer from October through to March, female loggerhead turtles lay clutches of eggs on the sandy beach at Mon ReposRod from Footprints Adventures can take you to the Mon Repos during the evenings to observe these ancient citizens of the oceans. A variety of bats camp on the northern side of the Burnett River.  Thousands of bats fly off at sunset to graze on natural fruits and insects during the night and return before sunrise the next day.  When they leave for the night they create a spectacular flyover as the sky gets darker.

Get more action in your life!  Try rock, reef, beach, fresh water or deep sea ocean fishing.  Play a round of golf on variety of different types of golf courses.  Walk around the city centre of Bundaberg and view buildings built from 1880 onwards.  Take the kids to Alexandra Park and walk through the free Bundaberg City Council Zoo.

Get in the car and go a bit further for the day.  Childers is only 30 minutes from Bundaberg.  Take the Historical walk, pay respects to the Palace Backpacker Memorial.  Drive a further 10 minutes south of Childers and turn off to Buxton and visit Wagtail yarns.   Here you will see how Angora goats are shorn, and the fleece is turned into luxurious mohair which is renowned for it lightness, warmth and the brilliant colours that it can be dyed.  Drive back up the Bruce Highway through Childers and visit Flying High Bird Park, Maminos Icecreams and Snakes Downunder.  Don't stop there, follow the signs to Woodgate and marvel at an unspoilt sandy beach less than 30 minutes from Bundaberg.
